May 23rd is World Turtle Day! Single use carryout bags are a major source of marine debris that litters our shores and wreaks havoc to sea creatures as they mistakenly ingest the bags (and balloons) thinking they are jellyfish. We’ve collected over 9,000 bags on the island shoreline since 2013 and can only imagine how many have blown into the ocean. To build momentum to eliminate single use plastic bags, and to celebrate World Turtle Day, we will be giving away our COA reusable bags to anyone that visits our office on May 23rd. We are located at 23 Johnnycake Hill Road, Middletown, RI right up the street from the YMCA. Let us work together, taking action to improve ocean health. Thank you!
