In partnership with the Rhode Island Department of Health we are expanding our water quality monitoring program to reduce beach closures. Additional test locations will be established and integrated into our weekly program, these tests will help to identify the general location of the elevated bacteria, and via an iterative process, we will find the source, and that will allow our us to work with the community to fix the issue. More beach days mean more tourism dollars, jobs, recreational days, reduced illness, and an improved quality of life. This expansion of the program requires a small amount of money and a few more volunteers. Please consider joining the COA1000 (2 dollars per week, which is less than a medium cup of coffee, beer or lemonade at the beach) http://www.cleanoceanaccess.org/coa1000/ and also volunteering about 30 minutes per week on Thursday morning. Thank you
