Many plastic bottles have made their way into Newport Harbor, and were removed by the Newport Harbor Trash Skimmers.. A simple way to become part of solving this problem is to drink from reusable bottles. Reusing is better for the environment and it will save you money by not buying water bottles from convenient stores. Also, if you bring a reusable mug to your daily coffee stop, it is likely that they will offer a small discount for your refill. Through the Newport Harbor Trash Skimmers project, made possible by funding from 11th Hour Racing, we are on our way to becoming part of the solution to marine debris and ultimately improving ocean health.
