This morning, Sail Newport and Volvo Ocean Race held a press conference and pep rally at Belle Mer on Goat Island in Newport. Vestas Wind announced their return to the Volvo Ocean Race, in partnership with 11th Hour Racing. Vestas 11th Hour Racing will be led by American sailors Charlie Enright and Mark Towill.
Vestas 11th Hour Racing will use the Volvo Ocean Race as a platform to promote their sustainability message worldwide, and to promote their vision to be the global leader in sustainable energy solutions.
The event captivated the Newport Sailing Community as they showed their excitement and support of the Volvo Ocean Race returning to Newport in May, 2018!
