The 4th annual Newport Sharkfest Swim, a benefit for Clean Ocean Access, presented by Enviro Sports will take place along the historic waterfront of Newport on September 18, 2016. Registration is now open.
In the past 3 years over 300 swimmers have enjoyed the swim from Perrotti Park to Kings Park Swim Area along the historic waterfront of Newport. New for this year is the 1.5-mile swim with a Rochambeau loop in the southern part of the harbor.
The purpose of the swim is to bring further awareness the effort and positive results for improving the health of Newport Harbor: Improving water quality, reducing marine debris, protecting shoreline access, and energizing discussion of a continuous waterfront harbor walk.
