Check out this New York Times video on the water quality issues facing Newport. Aging sewer systems and urban storm runoff are two of the worst sources of water pollution in the United States. Great progress has been made in Newport and Middletown in the past 10 years but we still have work ahead of us. This summer we are starting a new project to find the source of pollution that impacts Easton’s Beach, during wet-weather and during dry-weather.
