How do you remove a 250 pound tire that is 98% stuck in the sand and rock? 1. Find a large rope buried in the sand and dig it out. 2. Start to chisel away the material around the tire. 3. Attach the rope to the tire, pull, dig, repeat. 4. Wheel tire 1 kilometer to shoreline access path and then push 20 feet up a hill! Thank you to 11th Hour Racing for funding our Marine Debris Solutions Lifecycle Project and for the US NAVY partnering with us on a section of coastline on the west side of the island. In the coming weeks we will start Phase I work with several partners from Fort Adams northward to Melville Boat Basin. If you’d like to get involved, let us know. Thank you!
