We need clean air (smoke-free) and we need clean water! The last cesspool (an underground container for the temporary storage of liquid waste and sewage) was built in Rhode was in 1968, for good reason… they leak sewage into our ground water and coastal waters. Let us move forward in a state-wide uniform way and support the state-wide legislation that requires existing cesspools to be removed within one year of a property sale or transfer. Our friends at Save The Bay and practically every environmental group supports this initiative, it makes sense for Aquidneck Island and Rhode Island. Consider your options … and please call your State Representatives expressing your support of House Bill #5668, do it before Tuesday at 2pm. http://status.rilin.state.ri.us/documents/agenda-11387.pdf
